Our featured book for the month is ALWAYS the hero of the case! Everything is based around the book. We place very careful consideration into the books we include in our cases.
As a result of our relationships with the publishers, we always include newly-released books. You will not receive a book that has been in the country for months before. On many occasions, we actually receive our books faster than the big, local retailers! We always like to include the more anticipated titles, but sometimes we like to uncover little gems ourselves!
We do not focus on a specific genre, we like to change it up as much as we can and include different genres. But we will always keep you posted about this on theme launch day, and you can decide whether you like the genre or not!
The Book Case is a monthly book box of awesomeness! It includes a newly-released novel and 3-5 bookish goodies all relating to an epic pre-released theme!
The price is R 625.00 per case, including nationwide delivery for our monthly book case. Depending on the price of the newly-released book, we will add between 3-5 bookish goodies. The price of the monthly cases will be increased once or twice a year without prior notice due to price increases from our suppliers. However, we will endeavour to always increase the price on a small scale where we can.
Sometimes we’ll drop new, unique titles (like a limited edition hardcover) – in this case, the price of the case varies depending on the price of the book.
The book case aims to provide books that are appropriate for anyone 14-years old and upwards. This obviously also depends on a person’s reading level, but we feature novels that appeal to both teenagers and adults. We will always include a description of the book when we release the theme.
Every single case comes equipped with an exciting, newly-released novel! The book is always the hero of the case! I spend a huge chunk of time researching upcoming new releases, and only choose the best I can find. A lot of the time, we receive these books before the big retailers.
I will also fill your case with 3-5 bookish goodies for the avid bookworm – bookmarks, cards, journals, prints, accessories, stickers, jewelry, candles and anything else awesome that I can find! Some of the items will be exclusive to The Book Case and when possible, promotional items will be included. Everything relates to the theme!
We will also include original artwork from a featured artists every month! The artist is involved in the case from beginning to end in a given month!
You can expect anything and everything! We’ll always tell you the genre on theme launch day and you can decide whether you like it or not! We’ll also tell you if the book is hardback, trade paperback or paperback.
We research months in advance, and chat to publishers and distributors regarding newly-released novels in South Africa. We will only select the books that have been released in South Africa within 60 days prior to our theme release date. Please remember that South Africa is +/- 2 months behind on releasing the books in our country, so this will be different to the book’s publication date. In saying that, we do strive to receive the books earlier than most of the bookstores in SA, so most of the time, the chosen books that you will receive in your monthly case will not be available to purchase in SA bookstores yet. So unless you’re buying a newly-released book every couple of weeks, chances are you won’t have what we’ll send you! We also announce the theme on social media and through our newsletter and give hints as to what the book might be. So if it sounds like something you may already have picked up or pre-ordered, you can easily skip that month.
In terms of the novel, it is researched months in advance and we place a lot of consideration upon the choices of our books! Only the best, highly-anticipated novels are chosen! The book is ALWAYS the hero of the case!
With regard to the accompanied items, I love to curate gifts and I have a special interest in searching for the coolest, most interesting goodies I can find that relate to the theme we’re releasing. We love working with small businesses and most of the items will be exclusive to The Book Case.
We also include the work of a featured artist every month. The artists is involved in the theme from beginning to end, with his or her artwork or illustration playing a large role in the items for the case!
We accept debit and credit cards. With secure payment through the PayFast processing system, you can trust that your payments are safe with us.
We aim to ship the boxes anytime between the last day of the month to the middle of the next month. This all depends on the date SA is scheduled to receive the newely-released book. If that day falls on a Saturday or Sunday, we will then ship the following Monday or Tuesday. Everyone’s cases are shipped at the same time. An exact shipping date will always be updated on our socials.
On the very odd occasion, there might be a delay, depending on when we get the books from our publishers. But we will always keep you posted.
Unfortunately we do not ship internationally as yet. We are only available in South Africa. But we do have plans to ship internationally! Keep a look out for more!
